Horsham Hornets v Hockering Wizards

2 min read

We travelled to Horsham for our league encounter in the autumn sun.

We welcomed Toby to our team but were missibg our normal keeper who was away on “international duty”! so Charlie & Aaron were the first 2 to volunteer to do a half each.

this was certainly a game of two halves! in the 1st we were slow to the ball, poor with our passing and didn’t really work as a team. We deservedly went behind and we were lucky to go in at the break 1-1 with AJ getting the goal.

At half time we spike about our 1st half performance and what we needed to improve upon and to the lads credit they did just that. IB & OB were far more solid, VF was solid in the middle and SL, DW, NC and CB all impressed out wide. TE played in defense in the first half and up front in the 2nd and did very well on his debut crashing a fierce drive against the post which CB scored from the rebound from. NC and SL also got on the scoresheet with CB combining well with DW playing a 1-2 before CB scored his 2nd and our 5th.

lots of pleasing things today. TE impressive on debut, VF strong all over the pitch. OB winning his tackles. AJ solid in centre mid and a clean sheet in the 2nd. DW playing the final quarter in centre mid and holding really well. CB back on the goal trail with NC. SL starting to listen more concentrating on his 1st touch.

todays PotM was IB, Mr Dependable at the back. great passing and tackling, one spectacular run through most of their team!

Next 2 matches are home friendlies so hopefully we can build on our recent performances!
