A glorious morning saw us go away with a full strength of 9 players for the first time this season.

We kicked off with skipper for the day OB continuing where he left off last time at the back alongside Isaac the brick wall! We also played VF and SL at the back during the match at different points. SL wasn’t happy being asked to drop into defence for the final quarter but to his credit did as the coach asked (I did give him the option of that or the bench to be fair so he chose wisely!).

Aaron returned to the central mid role he’s proven so adept at recently, VF having a quarter there too. NC, SL, CB & DW taking turns out wide. DW was our main striker today with VF & SL also getting runs out up top. RB was once again our keeper, some good saves, great handling and clever kicks topping off a fine performance.

with around 45 of 50 mins gone we got the breakthrough finally taking one of our chances with a neat finish from AJ. We had a little reshuffle to protect our slim lead but as the old adage goes you are never more vulnerable than when you’ve just scored!! at 1-1 the home team also hit the post but we still had chances.

we defended brilliantly today and also passed the ball well but we need to work on the final through ball, pass or cross as we were wasteful in front if goal from so many great opportunities today.

My moment of the match today amongst some excellent defending was a superbly worked free kick routine involving NC, VF & CB. that was all them and would have been a fantastic goal, really clever football!

Player of the match today went to Mr 8.5, and by that I mean a player that would always get an 8.5 rating, VF the enforcer, he plays wherever I ask him to play, never a problem to him, and always with a smile on his face. Solid, dependable and skillful – well done VF.

see you all at training Monday evening!!
