Club Update on Safeguarding
Hockering FC is committed to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and ensuring that all English Football Association (FA) safeguarding rules are strictly followed within our club. The well-being and safety of our players, coaches, staff, and volunteers are of paramount importance to us.
We recognize the significant role that football plays in the lives of young individuals and the responsibility we have in providing a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. As such, we have implemented comprehensive safeguarding policies and procedures that align with the FA’s guidelines and regulations.
Our club actively promotes a culture of safeguarding awareness, ensuring that all members are educated and trained on safeguarding best practices. We conduct thorough background checks on all personnel working with children or vulnerable individuals and provide ongoing support and training to our coaches and volunteers to enhance their understanding of safeguarding principles.
We want to stress that direct communication with children via social media and telephone is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to private messaging, texting, and phone calls. It is important to maintain appropriate boundaries and protect the privacy of our young players.
Any necessary communication with children, such as team announcements or schedule updates, will be done through official club channels, approved messaging platforms, or with the involvement of parents or legal guardians. We encourage parents and guardians to be actively involved in their child’s participation in our club and to communicate any concerns or questions they may have.
Any concerns or incidents related to safeguarding should be reported through the appropriate channels provided by the club. We have designated safeguarding officers within our club who are trained to handle such matters sensitively and confidentially.
By adhering to the FA’s safeguarding rules and regulations, Hockering FC is dedicated to creating a safe and enjoyable football environment for all participants. We continually review and update our policies to reflect any changes in FA guidelines, ensuring that our club remains at the forefront of safeguarding practices.
Together with our members, parents, and the wider football community, we strive to maintain the highest standards of safeguarding at Hockering FC, ensuring that every individual’s welfare is protected, both on and off the pitch.
