Season Opener

Hockering FC 3-2 Briston Reserves.

A some what nervy affair that started poorly for the home side. Zack Kingshott was caught in possession early on, the ball was played back across the defence and fired home from 25 yards out. We werent behind for long, the forwards worked tirelessly to regain possession and Kai Hull crossed for Dave Wilkinsons 1st for the club. Stand in goal keeper Curtis Aldus had little to do until just on the stroke of half time when a rather dubious penalty was awarded to the visitors. Their Captain made no mistake and fired them ahead for the second time in the game with Aldus unable to quite get his fingers to it. HT 1-2

A heated half time resulted in a 2 changes Declan Moore and Connor Eagle replaced Jai Dack and Brendan Robinson. The home side started the half well and quickly asserted their dominace on possession leaving Briston with just long punts forward from the keeper, these were easily dealt with by the back 4 and goalkeeper. When Hockering broke Dan colk found himself on the edge of the area after and whilst attempting to get the ball under control he was bundled over. The referee instantly pointed to the spot and Kai Hull made no mistake with a rifled penalty. 2-2. Hockering saved the best till last with a wonderful team goal that summed up everything they’ve worked on all summer. Slick passing and forward runs found Dean Palmer in space on the left wing. He cut inside and drilled his shot past the keeper. 3-2 Hockering. Goal Scorers, Wilkinson, K Hull and Palmer. Motm Dean Palmer.

Electrical Fire

The Club are looking for prizes to go towards a raffle to help fund the repairs. During the clean up day an electrical fault in the kitchen caused a fire, after having the system tested its far more than a faulty plug and requires some serious work. We are contacting proffessional clubs asking for help with prizes. If there is anyway you can help please get in touch.
